Specificity and Use
CD44 antibody was raised against human T lymphocytes
Recognizes the human CD44 cell surface antigen, a 100kD glycoprotein widely expressed on human leucocytes, white matter of the brain and by some epithelial cells of the intestine and of the breast. CD44 expression may be up-regulated upon some carcinomas, and it has been speculated that this may be related to metastatic potential. This product is routinely tested in flow cytometry on human peripheral blood lymphocytes.
Flow Cytometry: Use 10 ul of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells in 100 ul.

Receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA). Mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions through its affinity for HA, and possibly also through its affinity for other ligands such as osteopontin, collagens, and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Adhesion with HA plays an important role in cell migration, tumor growth and progression. In cancer cells, may play an important role in invadopodia formation. Also involved in lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing, and in hematopoiesis.
