Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

CD36 antibody was raised against iL-4 treated murine thioglycollate-elicited peritoneal macrophages.
Recognizes mouse CD36, an 85kD transmembrane glycoprotein which is primarily expressed on platelets, monocytes/macrophages, smooth muscle and endothelial cells. The CD36 molecule is type B scavenger receptor, which binds to multiple ligands including thrombospondin, anionic phospholipids, oxidized low density lipoproteins and long chain fatty acids. CD36 has diverse functions and is reported to play a role in innate immunity, platelet adhesion/aggregation and long chain fatty acid transport. The CD36 molecule also directly mediates cytoadhesion of erythrocytes infected with Plasmodium falciparum, and may be involved in the development of atherosclerotic lesions and the formation of foam cells. Antibodies produced by clone MF3 have been shown to inhibit IL-4 induced thioglycollate-elicited peritoneal macrophage fusion and significantly block IL-4/GM-CSF-induced bone-marrow derived macrophage fusion.

About CD36

P16671 NM_000072 NP_000063.2

CD36 Antibody, Cluster determinant 36 Antibody, FAT Antibody, Fatty acid translocase Antibody, Glycoprotein IIIb Antibody, gp4 Antibody, GPIIIB Antibody, GPIV Antibody, PAS-4 protein Antibody, PAS IV Antibody, PASIV Antibody, Platelet collagen receptor Antibody, Platelet glycoprotein IV Antibody, SCARB3 Antibody, Thrombospondin receptor Antibody, BDPLT10 Antibody, CD36 antigen Antibody, CHDS7 Antibody, gp3B Antibody, PAS-4 Antibody, Platelet glycoprotein 4 Antibody

Binds to collagen, thrombospondin, anionic phospholipids and oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL). May function as a cell adhesion molecule. Directly mediates cytoadherence of Plasmodium falciparum parasitized erythrocytes. Binds long chain fatty acids and may function in the transport and/or as a regulator of fatty acid transport. Receptor for thombospondins, THBS1 AND THBS2, mediating their antiangiogenic effects.
