CD1A antibody was raised against human thymocytes.
Recognizes the human CD1a cell surface glycoprotein, a 49kD molecule expressed in association with beta 2 microglobulin. CD1a is expressed strongly by cortical thymocytes and also by Langerhans cells and interdigitating cells. Species cross-reactivity: Canine veiled cells and Cynomolgus monkey.
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:100. Use 10 ul to label 1E6 cells in 100ul. Immunohistochemistry: Frozen. Skin can be used as a positive control. The applications listed have been tested for the unmodified form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.

CD1A is a member of the CD1 family of transmembrane glycoproteins, which are structurally related to the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins and form heterodimers with beta-2-microglobulin. The CD1 proteins mediate the presentation of primarily lipid and glycolipid antigens of self or microbial origin to T cells. The human genome contains five CD1 family genes organized in a cluster on chromosome 1.
