CCR5 antibody was raised against cCR5 peptide (Met1-Lys22) KLH conjugate.
Monoclonal antibody T21/8 recognizes the N-terminus of CD195, an approximately 45 kD G-protein coupled receptor 1 family protein expressed on resting T cells, monocytes, macrophages, and immature dendritic cells.
The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis of human blood cells using 10 ul reagent / 100 ul of whole blood or 106 cells in a suspension. The content of a vial (1 ml) is sufficient for 100 tests.

CCR5 is a member of the beta chemokine receptor family, which is predicted to be a seven transmembrane protein similar to G protein-coupled receptors. This protein is expressed by T cells and macrophages, and is known to be an important co-receptor for macrophage-tropic virus, including HIV, to enter host cells. Defective alleles of this gene have been associated with the HIV infection resistance.
