Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to
worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting
immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.
TCR Screening Services
Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding.
Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Rat CAMK2A / CaMKII Alpha
Rat, Mouse, Bovine (tested or 100% immunogen sequence identity)
Protein G purified
Western blot (0.1 µg/ml)
Specificity and Use
Partially purified rat CaMKII.
Recognizes ~50-60kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of rat CaMKII alpha subunit on SDS-PAGE immunblots. Both the phosphorylated and nonphosphorylated forms are recognized. Species cross-reactivity: Mouse and bovine.
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, RIA and ELISA. Western Blot: 0.1 ug/ml. Detected CaMKII in 20 ug of rat brain tissue extract by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG: AP as the secondary antibody.
PBS, pH 7.4, 0.09% azide, 50% glycerol.
Short term: 4°C. Long term: Store at -20°C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

CAMK2A / CaMKII Alpha belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinases family, and to the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases subfamily. Calcium signaling is crucial for several aspects of plasticity at glutamatergic synapses. This calcium calmodulin-dependent protein kinase is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The alpha chain encoded by this gene is required for hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP) and spatial learning.
