  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

ATR antibody was raised against synthetic peptide corresponding to an internal region of human ATR protein.
A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross- reactivity with ATR from human, mouse, rat, monkey, dog, fish and Xenopus sources based on a 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with ATR from other sources has not been determined
This affinity purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and western blotting. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately 301 kD in size corresponding to ATR by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Lysates from HeLa, U2OS, RAW264.7 or HEK293 cells are suggested for western blotting. ATR is ubiquitously expressed, with highest expression levels in the testes. Note that isoform 2 is found in pancreas, placenta and liver but not in heart, testis and ovary.

0.02 M potassium phosphate, 0.15 M sodium chloride, pH 7.2, 0.01% sodium azide.

About ATR

Q13535 NM_001184 NP_001175.2

ATR Antibody, FRAP-related protein-1 Antibody, FCTCS Antibody, SCKL1 Antibody, MEC1 Antibody, Protein kinase ATR Antibody, Rad3 related protein Antibody, SCKL Antibody, FRAP-related protein 1 Antibody, FRP1 Antibody

Serine/threonine protein kinase which activates checkpoint signaling upon genotoxic stresses such as ionizing radiation (IR), ultraviolet light (UV), or DNA replication stalling, thereby acting as a DNA damage sensor. Recognizes the substrate consensus sequence [ST]-Q. Phosphorylates BRCA1, CHEK1, MCM2, RAD17, RPA2, SMC1 and p53/TP53, which collectively inhibit DNA replication and mitosis and promote DNA repair, recombination and apoptosis.

Western blot

Western blot
Anti-ATR Antibody - Western Blot. Western blot of anti-ATR antibody shows detection of ATR in HeLa cell nuclear extract (lane 1). Lane 2 shows negligible staining after pre-incubation of antibody with the immunizing peptide (50 ug peptide for 1 h at room temperature followed by centrifugation). A 4-8% gradient gel was used for separation. Goat serum was used at 5% for blocking. The arrowhead corresponds to 301 kD ATR when compared to MW markers (Lane M). The primary antibody was used at a 1:1400 dilution.
