Recognizes proteins that contain multiple symmetrically dimethylated arginines, including the Sm protein B, B' and D. Does not recognize nonmethylated peptides, peptides containing asymmetrically dimethylated arginines, or a peptide containing a single symmetric dimethyl-arginine.
