  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Clone Mab1.1 recognizes Beta-amyloid protein 42 (also known as Abeta42), the 42 amino acid peptide processed from Amyloid precursor protein (APP). There are several forms of Abeta peptides processed from APP, the most common being Abeta40 and Abeta42. Amyloid plaques contain both Abeta40 and Abeta42. Abeta40 is more common, but Abeta42 more fibrillogenic and therefore associated with disease states such as Alzheimer's disease. Clone Mab1.1 specifically binds to the 37-42aa region, and does not recognize full-length APP or the 40 amino acid peptide processed from APP (Abeta40). It stains diffuse plaques found in the brain of Alzheimer's disease patients. It does not stain healthy brain tissue or other organs.

Functions as a cell surface receptor and performs physiological functions on the surface of neurons relevant to neurite growth, neuronal adhesion and axonogenesis. Involved in cell mobility and transcription regulation through protein-protein interactions. Can promote transcription activation through binding to APBB1-KAT5 and inhibits Notch signaling through interaction with Numb. Couples to apoptosis-inducing pathways such as those mediated by G(O) and JIP.
