Native chick brain microtubules. Epitope: aa426-450. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic.

Specificity

Recognizes chicken tubulin alpha (MW 57kD). Causes the 10nm filaments to collapse into large lateral aggregates collecting in the cell periphery or tight juxtanuclear caps. Does not block microtubule assembly. Does not inhibit polymerization or depolymerization of platelet tubulin in vitro. Blocks (70-80%) the ability of tubulin dimers (with GppNHp bound) to promote a stable inhibition of adenylyl cyclase. Species cross-reactivity: human, bovine, porcine, rat, mouse, guinea pig, gerbil and frog.
