The aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDH) are a family of isozymes that may play a major role in the detoxification of aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. The ALDH7 gene spans about 20 kb of genomic DNA and is composed of 9 coding exons. The gene encodes a single transcript of 2.8 kb which is highly expressed in kidney and lung. ALDH7 is highly homologous with ALDH8 and the two genes show 86% identity in their open reading frames.
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma reacted with ALDH3B1 Antibody , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
