ALDH1A1 / ALDH1 Antibody - Confocal immunofluorescence of ALDH1A1 Antibody with NCI-H460 cell followed by Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated goat anti-mouse lgG (green). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclear (blue).
ALDH1A1 / ALDH1 Antibody - Fluorescent confocal image of HepG2 cells stained with ALDH1A1 antibody. HepG2 cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.2%, 30 min). Cells were then incubated ALDH1A1 primary antibody (1:100, 2 h at room temperature). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated donkey anti-mouse antibody (green) was used (1:1000, 1h). Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst 33342 (blue) (10 ug/ml, 5 min). ALDH1A1 immunoreactivity is localized to the cytoplasm of HepG2 cells.
ALDH1A1 / ALDH1 Antibody - ALDH1A1 Monoclonal Antibody western blot of NCI-H460 cell line lysates (15 ug/lane). The ALDH1A1 antibody detected the ALDH1A1 protein (arrow).

Specifications

Description
ALDH1A1 (ALDH1) is an aldehyde dehydrogenase and is involved in alcohol metabolism in the liver. It also plays a role in retinol metabolism, converting or oxidizing retinaldehyde to retinoic acid, and it is thought to modulate metabolic responses to a high-fat diet. ALDH1A1 is overexpressed in various cancers, and it is associated with worse prognosis in lung cancer, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, breast cancer, and stomach cancer, and also chemo-resistance in ovarian cancer. In immunohistochemistry of normal tissue, ALDH1A1 has secreted and cytoplasmic positivity in various tissues including the liver, gallbladder, gastrointestinal tissue, kidney, thyroid, lung, reproductive tissues, adipose tissue, and brain.
