Specificity
Recognizes beta Actin in a wide variety of tissues and species. Does not cross-react with adult cardiac or skeletal muscle or amoeba beta actin. Species cross-reactivity: Human, bovine, Xenopus, Drosophila melanogaster, sheep, porcine, rabbit, feline, canine, mouse, rat, guinea pig, chicken, fish (carp and goldfish) and leech.

Usage
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Western Blot:1:2500. Useful as a loading control for a wide variety of cell extracts. Immunocytochemistry (acetone-fixed): 1:500. Immunohistochemistry: The epitope recognized by the antibody is resistant to paraffin or formalin-fixed tissue sections. B5, Methacarn, ethanol or Bouin's solution may also be used as fixatives. Immunofluorescence: Staining of chicken gizzard ultra-thin sections labels the dense bodies, longitudinal channels and membranes associated dense-plaque. Positive control: Cultured human or chicken fibroblasts.
