  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Synthetic N-terminus decapeptide of a-smooth-muscle isoform of actin.
Recognizes myogenic soft tissue tumors and smooth muscle differentiation. Reacts on Cultured Cell lines, stress fibers of smooth muscle-derived cells and some smooth muscle subtype fibroblasts. Polypeptide reacting: specific for a-smooth-muscle isoform of actin (Mr 43000). Tumors specifically detected: leiomyosarcoma, leiomyoma, certain stromal cells surrounding infiltrating ductal carcinoma of breast. Species cross-reactivity: Human, bovine, equine, rat, mouse, chicken.
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other application not tested. Immunohistochemistry (Frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue requires protease treatment): 1:100 with PBS, pH 7.4 Incubation Time 1 hr at RT; extended with paraffin.

Lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.4, 0.5% BSA, 0.09% sodium azide. Reconstitute, 1 ml sterile, ddH2O or sterile 40-50% glycerol.
50 µl Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O.

ACTA2 / Smooth Muscle Actin belongs to the actin family of proteins, which are highly conserved proteins that play a role in cell motility, structure and integrity. Alpha, beta and gamma actin isoforms have been identified, with alpha actins being a major constituent of the contractile apparatus, while beta and gamma actins are involved in the regulation of cell motility. This actin is an alpha actin that is found in skeletal muscle.
