  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

ABCA2 antibody was raised against aBCA2 transfected HeLa cells.
Recognizes murine adenosine triphosphate (ATP) binding cassette transporter 2 (ABCA2). ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters are a large family of conserved proteins that translocate molecules across cellular membranes. ABCA2 is a 250kD member of the ABC-A sub-family, which is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, ovary and macrophages. The ABCA2 molecule shares homology with ABCA1 and ABCA7 and plays an important role in lipid metabolism. ABCA2 has been associated with Alzheimer's disease, and studies suggest that ABCA2 could also be involved in drug transport and resistance of tumors to chemotherapy.
The applications listed have been tested for the base form of this product. Alternate forms, such as conjugated, azide-free, or ready-to-use, have not been tested.

About ABCA2

Q9BZC7 NM_001606 NP_001597.2

ABCA2 Antibody, ATP-binding cassette 2 Antibody, ABC2 Antibody, KIAA1062 Antibody

The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intracellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the ABC1 subfamily. Members of the ABC1 subfamily comprise the only major ABC subfamily found exclusively in multicellular eukaryotes.
