Investigators can quickly initiate the production of an antibody by selecting the LifeSpan SureAbTM Synthesis Service or work with LifeSpan to design a more customized protocol to suit their specific needs.
Production projects can be tracked in real time through LifeSpan’s secure online interface, allowing investigators to make adjustments as the protocol develops.
Once produced, antibodies can then be characterized for affinity and specificity by Western Blot analysis or in immunohistochemistry, taking advantage of LifeSpan’s expertise as a molecular pathology provider and extensive tissue bank.

Having the ability to follow the real-time progress of an antibody production provides greater control over the project’s outcome. LifeSpan offers protocol flexibility so that changes can be made quickly to improve the rabbits immune response. Some changes that may effect outcome are:

- Double dosing
- Variable point of injection
Cost and time savings may also be gained by terminating non-responsive-projects early.

Upon completion of each antibody project, clients are supplied with affinity-purified antibody, unpurified antisera, peptides, the purification column, and a production report. Depending upon the terms of the agreement, this report will contain an overview of the production and details of the antibody characterization results with accompanying images.
