Applications

IHC - Paraffin (5 µg/ml), Western blot, Immunoprecipitation, ELISA (1:40000 - 1:160000)

Specificity and Use

TF / Transferrin antibody was raised against transferrin (Human Serum).
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti rabbit serum, purified and partially purified transferrin (human serum). Cross-reactivity against transferrin from other tissues and species may occur by have not been tested.
Immunohistochemistry: LS-B2447 was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for LS-B2447 was determined to be 5 ug/ml. ELISA: 1:40000-1:160000 (Coat with 1 ug transferrin in a standard sandwich ELISA using peroxidase conjugated rabbit IgG and ABTS as a substrate for 30 min at RT).

Packaging

Transferrin (TF) is a glycoprotein with an approximate molecular weight of 76.5 kD. TF is thought to have been created as a result of an ancient gene duplication event that led to generation of homologous C and N-terminal domains each of which binds 1 ion of ferric iron. The function of transferrin is to transport iron from the intestine, reticuloendothelial system, and liver parenchymal cells to all proliferating cells in the body.
