MAP2K2 / MKK2 / MEK2 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide from human MAP2K2 / MEK2.

Immunohistochemistry: LS-B1727 was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for LS-B1727 was determined to be 10 ug/ml.

MEK2, a MAP2K type protein kinase, is a member of the Ras MAPK pathway. This pathway modulates the activity of transcription factors, structural proteins and other protein kinases, leading to biological responses such as cell proliferation and differentiation. MEK2 contains a proline-rich segment that is recognized by the scaffold protein MEK binding partner-1 in vitro but not in vivo. Similar to MEK1, MEK2 is phosphorylated by several kinases, including Raf1, c-Mos and MEKK1.
