This purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with full length recombinant human IL-6 produced in E.coli.

This antibody will recognize both native and recombinant human Il-6 in cell supernatants and certain body fluids. In Western blot analysis of natural cell products or human body fluids, multiple bands of IL-6 will appear due to the variable amount of glycosylation on the molecule. A control of similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended. This product has minimal reactivity with mouse IL-6.

This purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and western blotting. Reactivity is also expected in neutralizations, radioimmunoassay and immunohistochemistry. The endotoxin content is estimated to be <10 pg/ul by the LAL method. By western blot a band approximately 23.7 kD in size corresponding to native human IL-6 protein is expected in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. The applications listed have been tested for the unconjugated form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.

Lyophilized from 10 mg/mL BSA (Protease and Ig free), 0.02 M Potassium Phosphate, pH 7.2, 0.15 M NaCl, 0.01% Sodium Azide

Reconstitute in 100 µL of deionized water.

Short term: store at 4°C. Long term: aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
