Description
Factor VIII (F8) is a coagulation factor and member of the intrinsic pathway of the coagulation cascade. It is a cofactor for Factor IXa, which converts factor X to the activated form Xa. Defects in this gene result in hemophilia A, a recessive X-linked coagulation disorder, and high expression of Factor VIII is associated with greater risk for pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis. In immunohistochemistry, it is expressed in the cytoplasm of endothelial cells and in extracellular deposits in tissues throughout the body.

Usage
Immunohistochemistry: LS-B3124 was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for LS-B3124 was determined to be 10 ug/ml.
