Specifications

Description
Alpha-1-adrenergic receptors (ADRA1D) is a receptor that functions to regulate cellular growth and proliferation and activate various mitogenic responses. In the brain, it may participate in the flight-or-flight response via epinephrine. It has also been shown to function in neuronal growth and development of the cerebellum, and is correlated with neurological and psychological disorders. In immunohistochemistry, ADRA1D has highest membranous positivity in the hippocampus in the brain, and is also present in the cerebral cortex and at lower levels throughout the central nervous system. It is also found in the prostate, reproductive tissues, the urinary bladder, and at low levels in various other tissues. References: The UniProt Consortium.
