Specificity and Use

SMC4 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide, which represented a portion of human structural maintenance of chromosomes 4 encoded within exon 23. According to Swiss-Prot entry Q9NTJ3, the peptide is near the C-terminus.
C-Terminus
Recognizes human SMC4. Species cross-reactivity: Reactivity with mouse SMC4 is likely owing 17 of 19 identical residues between the mouse ortholog and the peptide used for antibody production.
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, and Immunofluorescence. Western Blot: 1:500-1:5000. Immunoprecipitation: 2-10 ug/mg lysate. Immunofluorescence:1:100-1:200.
