Specificity and Use

Histone H2A antibody was raised against kLH-conjugated, synthetic peptide (. RGAcKQG.) in which AcK corresponds to acetyl lysine at position 5 of human Histone H2A.
Acetyl-Lys5
Recognizes acetylated Histone H2A, Mr ~14kD. An additional band of Mr 22kD was also detected at higher dilutions, and is likely the ubiquitinated form of Histone H2A. Species cross-reactivity: Human. Broad species cross-reactivity expected due to conserved sequence of the immunogen.
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Western Blot Analysis: 1:5000-1:50000 dilution of this lot detected increased levels of acetylated Histone H2A in sodium butyrate treated HeLa cell acid extracted proteins when compared with acid extracts from untreated HeLa cells.
