Immunohistochemistry - Paraffin (IHC-P)

Specificity and Use

Caspase 4 antibody was raised against a 17 residue synthetic peptide NKKAHPNMEAGPPESGE(C) based on the sequence from human caspase 4 (residues 85-101) with the cysteine (C) residue added and the peptide coupled to KLH. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Gibbon (100%); Monkey (82%).
aa85-101
Detects an ~45 kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of the proform of caspase-4 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots, in samples from human and monkey origins. This 45 kD band as well as unidentified 40 and 30 kD bands present in cell lysates, can be specifically inhibited in peptide competition studies. An additional band at 70 kD is also observed on Western blots, this band is not inhibited by the relevant peptide.
