Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher.
Specificity and Use
KLH-conjugated, synthetic peptide containing four symmetrical dimethyl-arginine-glycine repeats (KR*GR*GR*GR*G in which (R*) denotes symmetric dimethylation of arginine).
Recognizes proteins that contain multiple symmetrically dimethylated arginines, including the Sm protein B, B' and D. Does not recognize nonmethylated peptides, peptides containing asymmetrically dimethylated arginines, or a peptide containing a single symmetric dimethyl-arginine. Species cross-reactivity: human and mouse.
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunocytochemistry. Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Detects bands at 30, 32 and 16kD, corresponding to p60, Sm B, B' and D, respectively. Immunoprecipitation: Reported by an independent laboratory to immunoprecipitate proteins containing symmetric dimethyl-arginine. Immunocytochemistry: 1:500. Reported by an independent laboratory to immunostain Cajal bodies in the nuclei of HeLa, WI-38 and NIH/3T3 cells fixed with paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with triton.
