Specificity and Use

ACE2 / ACE-2 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide corresponding to aa near the centre of human ACE2.
Recognizes human ACE2 at ~90kD. Species cross-reactivity: mouse.
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry (paraffin) and Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry: 2.5 ug/ml. Western Blot: 2 ug/ml.

Packaging

PBS, 0.02% sodium azide
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C

Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2) plays a central role in vascular, renal, and myocardial physiology. In contrast to its homolog ACE, ACE2 expression is restricted to heart, kidney, and testis. Recently. ACE2 has also been shown to be a functional receptor of the SARS coronavirus. The normal function of ACE2 is to convert the inactive vasoconstrictor angiotensin I (AngI) to Ang1-9 and the active form AngII to Ang1-7, unlike ACE, which converts AngI to AngII.
